2025 Year in Review
Season Review 2025In 2025, the CORPUS family grew: new faces, new energy, and lots of reasons to celebrate. We welcomed wonderful artists and collaborators into the fold, making our creative community bigger, bolder, and more joyful than ever.
We packed our bags and hit the road (and the skies!), bringing CORPUS work to Mainland China, Sweden, and Hong Kong. Along the way, we toured some of our favourite creations: Les moutons, Camping Royale, and La bulle, sharing laughter and wonder with audiences around the world.
And then there were the sheep.
The Alpine Merry Sheep Choir returned for what can only be described as its most iconic season yet, turning heads, melting hearts, and reminding us all how powerful (and fun) art in public space can be.
Here’s to a year of movement, mischief, and magical moments; and to using this incredible momentum to prepare for a milestone year ahead as we step boldly toward CORPUS’ 30th anniversary!

A Holiday Season to Remember for the Alpine Merry Sheep Choir
The Alpine Merry Sheep Choir had an exceptional 2025 holiday season, one that truly took Toronto (and the internet) by storm.
Our roaming, carolling flock filled neighbourhoods, markets, shopping centres, and public spaces across the GTA with festive cheer, delighting unsuspecting audiences wherever they wandered. From downtown streets to Newmarket Mall, the sheep brought surprise, laughter, and sing-along joy to thousands.
And then… the internet did what the internet does best.
The Choir went wildly viral on TikTok, racking up over 5 million views, introducing our merry sheep to audiences far beyond Toronto. What began as spontaneous holiday magic quickly became a national conversation.
The media took notice.
On December 10th, YorkRegion.com published a feature story celebrating the sheep carollers’ joyful takeover:
The very next morning, on December 11th at 8:20am, the Choir joined CBC Metro Morning as part of their Advent Calendar series, spreading holiday cheer live on air.
Momentum continued to build.

From viral TikToks to radio waves, from local headlines to national television, the Alpine Merry Sheep Choir proved once again that a little whimsy — and a lot of heart — can travel very far.
2025 reminded us that people are hungry for surprise, softness, and shared joy. And sometimes, all it takes is a flock of singing sheep to bring a city together.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
That’s a wrap on another joyful run of the Alpine Merry Sheep Choir and now the flock is heading back to the pasture for a well-earned rest.
Over the past weeks, our singing sheep have wandered through Toronto’s markets and neighbourhoods, filling the air with carols and spreading a little seasonal magic along the way. From quick smiles to spontaneous sing-alongs, every encounter reminded us why we love bringing art and wonder into public spaces.
We hope our woolly choir brightened your day, even just for a moment, and we’re already counting down to next year’s return.

5 Years of Holiday Cheer!
It began on front porches in the middle of a pandemic, a simple act of joy in uncertain times. Five years later, the Alpine Merry Sheep Choir continues to warm hearts across Toronto. What started as a one-time experiment has become a seasonal favourite, delighting audiences of all ages with laughter, song, and plenty of “baahs.”
This December, our festive flock is back — warming up their voices (and hooves!) to spread joy at some of Toronto’s most beloved holiday destinations. You’ll spot them roaming each location, popping up where you least expect them with songs, silliness, and plenty of woolly charm. Whether you’ve seen them before or it’s your first time, come experience a show that has become as much a part of the season as twinkling lights and hot cocoa.
So bundle up, bring your family and friends, and join us in celebrating five years of laughter, song, and community.
Because in Toronto, nothing says “holidays” quite like a choir of singing sheep.

MUKASHI MUKASHI Takes Home 2 Dora Awards!
A Night to Remember at the 45th Dora Awards: Mukashi, Mukashi Celebrates Two Big Wins
The 45th annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards was truly one for the books, and CORPUS is thrilled to share that MUKASHI MUKASHI (Once Upon a Time) was recognized with two major wins:
Outstanding Costume Design — Atsuko Kiyokawa
Outstanding Lighting Design — Yann BeckerWe extend heartfelt congratulations to these brilliant artists for their vision, skill, and dedication. Their contributions helped bring Mukashi, Mukashi to life in spectacular fashion.
Conceived and directed by CORPUS’ Artistic Director David Danzon, and co-produced with The KIO Company, Mukashi, Mukashi is a bold theatrical fusion of Eastern and Western storytelling traditions. The piece centers around two iconic figures from Japanese and Western folklore—The Wolf and the Crane—whose unlikely encounter sparks a journey from tension to harmony, woven through transformation, humour, and empathy.
The work blends traditional and contemporary Japanese art forms—Origami, Kyōgen, Bunraku, Manga—with Western theatrical conventions such as pantomime, Looney Tunes-style comedy, and even elements of TV talk shows. The result is a dynamic and playful theatrical experience that bridges cultures while exploring the universal themes of conflict, cooperation, and metamorphosis.
Mukashi, Mukashi was honoured with eight Dora Award nominations in total, including:
